Ekol Joel Daniel

Ekol Joel Daniel is a compassionate veterinarian and animal welfare advocate from Liberia, renowned for his dedication to rescuing and caring for animals in need. Born with a deep love for animals, he pursued veterinary practice to turn his passion into a lifelong mission of healing and protection.  

Inspired by the plight of stray and abused animals in Liberia, Ekol and a team of animal lovers founded Happy Paws Liberia, a pet rescue center dedicated to providing shelter, medical care, and rehabilitation for abandoned and injured animals. This organization also promotes responsible pet ownership through education and community outreach.  

Driven by empathy and unwavering commitment, Ekol Joel Daniel continues to inspire others to show kindness to animals, proving that one person’s love can make a world of difference.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANT & SECRETARY

Sannian Susan Blay,

Susan is a dedicated animal lover and a passionate volunteer at Happy Paws Liberia, where she serves as a Technical Assistant and Administrator. Her unwavering love for animals drives her to work tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring the smooth operation of the rescue center.  

With a heart full of compassion, Susan assists in coordinating medical care, managing records, and supporting the daily functions of Happy Paws Liberia. Her organizational skills and technical expertise help streamline operations, allowing the team to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome more animals in need.  

Beyond her administrative role, Susan is deeply involved in hands-on care, comforting abandoned pets and advocating for their welfare. Her kindness and dedication inspire fellow volunteers and community members to join the cause.  

For Susan, volunteering is more than just a role—it’s a calling. She believes every animal deserves love, safety, and a second chance, and she works every day to make that belief a reality.

She spearheads *media relations*, using storytelling and advocacy to amplify Happy Paws Liberia’s impact, rallying support, and shining a light on animal welfare issues. Her relentless energy inspires the team to do more, fight harder, and never settle.
